I am also a 100 Ton Master with an AB Unlimited, any waters MMD an STCW, TWIC and commercial assistance towing endorsement. I briefly held the Towboat US agreement for the Okeechobee Waterway. I am now employed part time as a ferry and tour boat Captain with the Lake Champlain Transportation Co.. I have successful seasonal fishing charter and assistance towing operations on Lake Champlain. Like the hurdle you once dealt with, my problem is winter employment. I am looking for opportunities to work in the off season (winter) and hone my skills on other waters to the south or on the east coast of New England. All the networking I have done thus far has led to very little opportunity. Any suggestions or advice on how to proceed would be much appreciated. Thank you!
